Getting started

What HelloCall is, signing in, finding your way around the console, and the shortest path from a new account to your first real call.

What HelloCall is

HelloCall answers and places phone calls with AI. You draw the call as a workflow — what to say, what to ask, what to do with the answers — and HelloCall runs it on your phone numbers: it listens to the caller, understands them in their language, speaks in a natural voice, looks things up in your systems, books callbacks, and writes everything down.

  • Incoming calls — a receptionist that never puts anyone on hold, answers questions, takes bookings and hands over to a person when needed.
  • Outgoing calls — reminders, confirmations, follow-ups, surveys and lead calls, one at a time or as a campaign over a list.
  • Your numbers, your way — numbers on your own Plivo account, or SIM cards in USB modems on your own computer.
  • Pay for what you use — a prepaid wallet, charged for connected talk time and the AI it uses.

  1. Press Start free or Sign in at the top of this site.
  2. Continue with your Google account.
  3. Your organisation is created with ₹100 of welcome credit, and the console opens.

HelloCall signs in with Google only. You stay signed in on each device you use, for months, until you sign out. To join a colleague’s organisation instead, ask an admin there to add your Google email under Settings → Users — then sign in.

Finding your way around

The rail on the left of the console takes you to:

  • Home — your balance, the week’s calls and spend, and recent calls.
  • Phone numbers — your lines and which workflow answers each.
  • Workflows — the calls you design.
  • Campaigns — calling lists.
  • Scheduled calls — calls booked for a time.
  • Parties — your contacts.
  • Call history — every call with its transcript.

Your avatar at the bottom of the rail opens Settings: your profile, organisation, users, number providers, integrations, API keys, plan and wallet. On a phone, the rail becomes a menu button at the top of the screen.

Your first call in five steps

  1. Get a number. Connect your Plivo account under Settings → Plivo and buy or import a number — or plug a SIM modem into a computer with the desktop app and import it. See Phone numbers.
  2. Create a workflow. On Workflows, press New workflow, name it and describe the call in a sentence or two: “Greet callers to Sharma Dental, answer questions about timings and fees, and book appointments.” The designer drafts it for you.
  3. Shape it. Read the draft, change the words, add questions or answers to the FAQ, and press Save. See Workflows.
  4. Test it. Press Test call in the designer and talk to it through your microphone. Browser tests are free.
  5. Put it live. On Phone numbers, open the number’s Routing and choose the workflow as its Incoming workflow. Call the number from your mobile.

Using HelloCall on a phone

The console works in a phone’s browser: every page fits a small screen, tables become cards, and the rail becomes a menu. Designing large workflows is easier on a bigger screen.

Where to go next

Questions about getting started

Every question from every chapter is also on the FAQ page.

Do I need a credit card to try HelloCall?

No. Every new organisation starts with ₹100 of credit at the Pro rate. Choose a plan when you want to add more.

Do I need a phone number before I can try it?

No. You can build a workflow and talk to it with a free browser test call before you have any number.

How long does it take to get the first call working?

With a Plivo account ready, about fifteen minutes: import a number, describe a workflow, test it, and set it as the number’s incoming workflow.

Can my whole team use it?

Yes. Add colleagues by their Google email under Settings → Users; there is no charge per member.

Is there an app?

The console works in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone. The desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux is for running local SIM modems.
