Chapter 16 · Account

Plans, wallet and billing

How calls are charged, the four ways to pay — trial, pay as you go, Pro and Pro Max — recharging the wallet, and downloading receipts.

How charging works

HelloCall runs on a prepaid wallet. Two things are paid from it:

  • Talk time — the connected time of a call, at your plan’s rate. A call that does not connect costs nothing.
  • AI tokens — whenever a model reads or writes: understanding answers, a HelloCall Agent, a summary, and AI work in the designer such as drafting or polishing. ₹250 per million tokens in and ₹500 per million out, on every plan.

The telephone line itself is not billed by HelloCall: a Plivo number’s rent and carrier charges are on your Plivo account, and a local modem uses your SIM’s own plan (with no HelloCall talk-time charge).

The plans

  • Trial — every new organisation starts with ₹100 of credit and calls at the Pro rate. No card needed. The wallet cannot be recharged on the trial; choose a plan when the credit runs out.
  • Pay as you go — no fee. ₹2 for every started minute of a connected call. It never expires, and you recharge whenever you like.
  • Pro — ₹6,000 a year. 2 paise a second (₹1.20 a minute), charged per second.
  • Pro Max — ₹15,000 a year. 1 paisa a second (₹0.60 a minute), charged per second. Pays for itself past about 25 hours of calling a month, and includes priority support on WhatsApp.

Every plan includes every feature: unlimited workflows and team members, all languages and voices, incoming and outgoing calls, keypad input, API calls and the secret store, transcripts for 30 days. The live prices are always on the pricing page.

Choose, renew or change a plan

Settings → Plan shows your Current plan, Your rate, when it is Valid until, your Wallet balance and the Talk time it buys.

  • Switch to pay as you go — chooses pay as you go. Not available while a yearly plan is still running.
  • Buy for a year — buys Pro or Pro Max through Razorpay.
  • Renew for a year — renewing the same plan early adds a year to what is left.
  • Upgrade — from Pro to Pro Max; the new year starts today.

The yearly fee pays for the plan; it is not added to the wallet. When a yearly plan ends, calls carry on at the Pro rate from whatever balance remains, but the wallet cannot be recharged until you renew or switch to pay as you go.

Add credit to the wallet

  1. Open Settings → Wallet & billing (or press Add credit on Home).
  2. Pick ₹500, ₹1,000, ₹2,500 or ₹5,000, or type an Amount — at least ₹100 and at most ₹1,00,000.
  3. Press Pay with Razorpay and pay by UPI, card or net banking.
  4. The balance updates as soon as the payment is confirmed.

The Wallet & billing page

  • Balance — turns red when it cannot fund a minute of talk.
  • Talk time left — roughly how long you can talk at your rate, before AI tokens.
  • Plan — your plan and until when.
  • Payments — every payment with its receipt number, what it was for, the amount, status and date. Download receipt makes a PDF receipt with your billing address and GSTIN.
  • Usage & credits — every credit and charge, with the balance after it: the welcome credit, recharges, each call’s talk time, and AI work such as “AI · polish line”.

Questions about plans, wallet and billing

Every question from every chapter is also on the FAQ page.

Which plan should I choose?

Pay as you go (₹2 a started minute, no fee) suits light or irregular use. Pro (₹6,000 a year, ₹1.20 a minute billed per second) is cheaper for steady use. Pro Max (₹15,000 a year, ₹0.60 a minute) pays for itself past about 25 hours of calling a month.

How is a 20-second call charged?

On Pro or Pro Max, exactly 20 seconds of talk time. On pay as you go, one started minute (₹2). Plus any AI tokens the call used.

What are AI tokens and how much do they cost?

Tokens are how AI models measure text. HelloCall charges ₹250 per million tokens sent to a model and ₹500 per million written back, on every plan. A workflow of fixed lines and keypad presses uses very few.

Can I top up during the trial?

No. The trial is the ₹100 welcome credit; to add credit, choose a plan — pay as you go has no fee.

What happens when my yearly plan expires?

Calls continue at the Pro rate from your remaining balance, but you cannot add credit until you renew or switch to pay as you go.

Is there a minimum recharge?

₹100, and at most ₹1,00,000 in one payment.

Does the plan fee go into my wallet?

No. The yearly fee pays for the plan and its rate; the wallet is recharged separately and pays for talk time and AI tokens.

Can my balance go negative?

No. A call needs at least a minute of balance to connect, and a call that uses up the balance is ended with your “wallet is empty” message.

Where are my receipts?

Settings → Wallet & billing → Payments — Download receipt on any paid row. Add your billing address and GSTIN under Settings → Organisation first so they are printed on it.

Do I pay HelloCall for my Plivo number or my SIM?

No. Plivo bills your Plivo account for the number and carrier charges; a SIM runs on its own mobile plan. HelloCall charges only talk time (not on local modems) and AI tokens.
